I am quite unhappy and taken aback by my recent experience at Amelia's. I've been here before and the food was absolutely delicious, so I was excited to take my friend here when she came to town. It was about 6:45 on a Thursday night and the restaurant was not too busy when we got there--we were hoping for outside seating since it was such a beautiful day out (there was no one outside at all). Well, we waited for 5 minutes before anyone came to the front, which was fine. However, we were met by a man who appeared to be a chef that asked us brashly "do you two have reservations?" I said no, because it's a Thursday night, not their typical busy Friday or Saturday, to which he responded with (in a very rude and annoyed tone): "well we only do reservations now, you'll have to come back at 8," and he walked away before I could even say anything. I even checked the website to see if it said reservations only, but it doesn't. I don't appreciate the fact that my friend and I appeared to be judged by him since we're 20-something year old college students. I will not be returning to this restaurant due to the treatment I received.
Donald, the waiter, was very courteous and attentive. The environment and atmosphere was really nice and smooth. Great staff! The food was excellent and flavorful. Will come back for sure.
