Store #1956
I stopped in the local Family Dollar on my way home to night to pick up a bag of rice. I approached the check out counter and laid my item down. I stood there for awhile before a young man came to the counter and greet me by saying "yeah".... he proceeded to ring up the bag of rice that came to $1 and change. I handed him two $1 bills, he began to examine the bills and then marked them with the bill pen. I asked him for my money back and proceeded to walk out the store, when he decided to comment "fine". I walked to the store next door paid for the same bag of rice with the same two $1.00 bill I had and was not treated like a criminal. I walked back into the Family Dollar and asked the young man his name and he replied Devin, the lady standing next to him asked me if there was a problem... I asked her if she was the manager and she answered yes. I proceeded to explain to her what my issues was and this practice is very insulting and ridiculous to test $1 bills. She explained to me the area has high fraud and they test all bills. It would be different if I didn't frequent this store and had never been treated like this before, but I go there all the time and this has never happened. As I'm walking out of the store the "manger" commented "wow".... what type of customer service is this? The whole experience was horrible and I left feeling very insulted.
