Mark Rutkowski's Gallery is perfectly transcendent. I had a wonderful experience there finding his studio open. Coming in from the busy street of Espanola Way where restaurant girls constantly ask you to "look at our menu" Mark's studio is a welcome relief. He has paintings in the hallway and in two rooms, Mark even offered me green tea from Japan, Mark really makes you feel special. We sat and discussed his time in Thailand as a Buddhist monk and Bali. There was no pressure to buy anything though before I left I had to buy Mark's recently published novel "In A Butterfly's Dream" which he signed, of course. It made my day! Sadly I heard that Mark lost this location to development and now you'll have to go to Bali where he has a studio or the forests of Thailand where he is a monk.
